Fight against Cancer Many initiatives were undertaken in our subsidiaries to raise money for Cancer associations this year. In Brazil, in November 2017, 20 employees from Mérieux NutriSciences participated to the tenth edition of Corrida e Caminhada Ilumina! The race was organized by the Associação Ilumina that takes care of patients diagnosed with cancer, and gathered about 800 participants. All the money of the inscriptions was reverted for this project. The Brazilian subsidiary also participated to “Pink October”. A special lunch was held at the Environmental Analysis and Studies Division in Piracicaba / SP to sensitize people about self-examination and breast cancer prevention. On this day also, employees from all over Brazil were invited to wear pink. At the Maringá unit, a talk on prevention was organized with a nurse. In the units of Piracicaba, the group Amigas da Onça, formed by women diagnosed with Breast Cancer, told a little of their story and divulged the importance of prevention and practice of self-examination. The group became known after taking a different approach to this campaign in 2016 when they released a video on social networks with dance and music, addressing the importance of awareness. The Amigas da Onça brought to the collaborators valuable information, besides giving testimonies, and of course, presenting their famous choreography! In Canada, 24 employees of Mérieux NutriSciences walked and / or ran the 5-kilometer course through downtown Toronto. It was a glorious, warm, sunny day and spirits were high, knowing they had raised almost $3500 for Breast Cancer Research and Patient Support Services. In France, Mérieux NutriSciences sponsored a milestone of the “Toques en Truck” tour. The association “ de contre le cancerTout le mon ” sends a Food Truck to hospitals for people with cancer, their families and caregivers to offer them a gourmet lunch cooked by starred chefs. Thsi operation is meant to help patients support the hospitalization as food is generally not so good at the hospital. Mérieux NutriSciences sponsored this operation in the C.H.R.U. Jeanne de Flandres in Lille. 30
